concordia res parvae crescunt

This impressive building is located right next to  the central railway station. The front of it looks gorgeous and at the same time very meaningful. Watching this building it reminds me of the society, and more specifically it looks like those two couples,  are holding the weight of the society.
The sentence in the middle means: "in harmony, small things grow". In  my opinion this building successfully deliver this message. In fact to me those two couples  represent any couple in our society, and by simply  being in harmony (in tune) with their environment, they keep the society working and developing itself.
It sounds like a gentle and subtle invitation to all people to keep behaving according to the society rules and norms, as long as we want a functional  society.

Lovely restauran/coffe shop

This lovely restaurant is located in these lovely premises which reminds me of a Roman temple.

I find it  very appealing, romantic and sophisticated, since somehow this setting is able to blend nicely history, cosiness, and class. Yes i do find this place very classy.
Moreover,  i find it nicely sized, with very nice proportions. It fits beautifully to that particular setting.
It is not controlling the surrounding environment, but actually it blends well with it.
I would definitely recommend to any visitor or even locals  this lovely spot, for a nice peaceful moment.
Undoubtedly, this place gives an extra nice  little touch to Helsinki, and it makes it a more interesting place to visit.

Kiasma museum of contemporary art

This building doesn´t seem to follow any architectural standards, but it is a piece of art itself.
It is located in a strategic central  position, and stands out from the others. This picture is another proof of much importance Finland is giving to art, creativity and innovativeness, as central ingredients to promote development.  This just to show, where this country is heading towards. I admire those who made this decision  to build this museum. Because a place like that , always attracts excellence in the field of arts, both at national and international level. It is well known, that every society which hosts this type of people, always benefit out of it, getting new inspirations, ideas, and healthy competition which enhance the economy itself.

Ateneum art museum

This great building located in Helsinki downtown, dates back to 1887. The front of the museum looks as impressive as  the art collection inside. This building was built in a period in which Finland wasn´t a rich  and prosperous country.

This very building represents how Finland has been able to change its destiny in the recent history.
In my opinion, this is a strong tangible sign of the important role that the Finnish society has given to art and creativity. Undoubtedly, art and creativity have significantly contributed to what is Finland today.
Therefore, when looking at this picture, we should not only admire this building for its beauty, but we should go a step further and consider how important  art, history and creativity are for the development of a country in its entirety

Finnish Parliament

This picture shows the Finnish parliament, which is a very impressive building, with very strong features, showing how powerful the influence of politics in this society is .
But at the same it  also  shows simple and conservative characteristics,  with a very down to earth style. This very style somehow mirrors  the Finnish society, being very organized but at the same time very simple and with approachable people.
That´s the feeling that i get, whenever i pass by the parliament.  In my opinion this a very  subtle message that probably not every body get.
I think that the Parliament should be  the starting point, for any tourist, coming to Finland. So somehow, they could get a first glimpse of what the Finnish society is like.
